"content": "5.00 p.m. We should not continue disturbing the right to family time of the employees. We need to avoid burnout so that we increase productivity of employees wherever they are. We need to protect their mental wellness as well. Madam Temporary Speaker, I challenge the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare and the Public Service Commission on the need to be creative by enabling remote working. I do not see why a clerk should be in the office from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. If they can work from home, so be it. That right to work from home or remotely should not be abused. Employees should also not take advantage of the right to disconnect or harass their employers in case there is a meeting. With those remarks, so that I allow Sen. Okiya Omtatah to second, I would like to thank the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare for standing with me, facilitating and assisting in drafting and publishing the Bill. Madam Temporary Speaker, I look forward to reply consequently and hope the National Assembly will process this Bill and allow the President to sign it into law. It will be the first in African. There are less than 10 countries across the world that have adopted the right to disconnect in this digital age. I thank you."
