    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, my final Statement is on the planned relaunch of Strategic Food Reserve (SFR). I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries on the planned relaunch of SFR, three years after it closed its operations. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide the timeline for the operationalization of SFR, stating when the National Treasury will release Kshs15 billion needed to revive the programme and further state the types of food commodities to be included in this programme. (2) Provide a list of all SFR stores to be reopened indicating the plans in place, if any, to have the stores close to farmers for easy accessibility and address congestion in the said stores as was the case in the past. (3) Clarify whether the SFR will import food commodities for their reserves or if there are measures in place to help Kenyan farmers to produce sufficient food locally to stock our stores and ensure there is food security.
