"content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I need him to listen to this. It is important. I will take it again. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Energy regarding the last mile electricity connectivity to public schools. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide a comprehensive overview of the current electricity connectivity status in Kitui County, stating the number of public schools that currently lack connection to the national Grid. (2) Elucidate the underlying factors contributing to the delay in commissioning power connections to public schools in Kitui County, eight years after the requisite infrastructure was put in place. (3) Outline the immediate and long-term interventions devised by the Government to foster the seamless connection of all public schools into the national grid, encompassing both the Kitui County and the entirety of the nation. (4) Shed light on any collaboration between the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Education and other relevant stakeholders to expedite the process of power connectivity in public schools. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was seeking the attention of Sen. Ali Roba because I know the problems that the people of Kitui face, especially the public schools are also severe in Mandera and Lamu Counties."
