    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Committee on Finance and Budget on the review of salaries, benefits and allowances for judges and magistrates by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC). In the Statement, the Committee should - (1) State the reasons for the termination of taxable car allowance for the purchase of motor vehicles for the judges. (2) State the rationale for the proposal to eliminate the non-practicing allowance, which is intended to compensate the judges and magistrates for forfeiting their legal practice. (3) Ascertain whether the review is within the principals of ensuring the Judiciary can attract and retain the skills required to execute its function. (4) Provide information on the last time a lifestyle audit was conducted on the Commissioners of SRC. Thank you."
