    "content": "My position is very simple. Look at the provision on manufacturing. The Finance Bill has addressed clearly the issue of our industries, which is a sad story. Currently, our manufacturing industry contributes only 7.2 per cent of our GDP down from 9.2 per cent a few years back. I know the manufacturers have an ambitious plan to raise that to about 30 per cent by 2030. However, that cannot be achieved if we do not protect our local manufacturers. We should support them. We can do that by zero-rating the Excise Duty, especially on goods produced locally. We should also put Excise Duty on the goods which are imported yet they can be manufactured locally, for example, furniture which come from China and other countries, sugar, iron, and steel. That is the only way we can resuscitate our manufacturing industry."
