    "content": " Hon. Speaker, I support the Motion based on the law. I have carefully looked at Sections 6 and 7 of the Act, and Articles 238 and 239 of the Constitution. A holder of this office is required to be qualified in terms of learning, experience, and trust. These are not the same requirements as those of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). Even those who opposed his appointment raised issues of independence and impartiality. In fact, we must thank Mr. Haji because anyone who may have had an issue then – and the matter is in court so I will not comment on it – now has an opportunity to debate on a new DPP because the outgoing one has left office four years early. However, this is not an independent office that requires all those qualifications. It only requires gaining the trust of Kenyans.
