Speaker, I beg to move the following Motion: THAT, taking into consideration the findings of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs in its Report on the vetting of nominees for appointment as members of the Judicial Service Commission, laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 8th June 2023, and pursuant to the provisions of Article 171(2)(h) of the Constitution and Section 8(1) of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, 2011, this House approves the appointment of the following persons as members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC)- (i) Ms Caroline Nzilani King’oku-Ajuoga; and (ii) Hon. Isaac Kiprono Rutto, EGH. Hon. Speaker, I beg to move that this House adopts the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on the approval hearing of Ms Caroline Nzilani King’oku-Ajuoga and Hon. Isaac Kiprono Rutto who are the nominees for appointment as members of the JSC. The Report contains proceedings of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal affairs during the approval hearing of Ms Caroline Nzilani and Hon. Isaac Kiprono Rutto as forwarded by His Excellency the President and communicated to the House by the Speaker on Wednesday, 3rd May 2023."
