"content": "I also want to talk about the increase in tax on mobile money transfers. Right now, the majority of Kenyans, over 70 per cent, depend on mobile money transfers. We send our parents in the rural setup, where there are no banks, money via mobile money transfer. Today, we will increase the taxation from 10 per cent to 15 per cent. That means we will pay 3 per cent more to send money through mobile money transfers like M-PESA. There is also the advance tax on commercial vehicles. When discussing commercial vehicles, we cannot miss mentioning matatus and lorries. We use matatus . Is the fare they charge not going to be high? Yes, it will be. It will also be very expensive to transport building materials using lorries. Hon. Speaker, I want to urge my colleagues to be objective leaders, and I believe they are.
