"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to oppose the Finance Bill. This is the 11th Finance Bill that I am participating in and it is one of the most controversial Bills that I have ever seen. Those who have been with me here have seen 11 Finance Bills before and this one has created a lot of controversy in the country. As a Parliament, we have a date with destiny this time. When we were passing the VAT on fuel in 2018, it is on record that when a proposal was brought by the Executive to raise taxes on fuel from zero per cent to 16 per cent, I brought an amendment to reduce that to zero per cent.
