    "content": "Currently, our debt-carrying capacity is sustainable. However, it is at the risk of getting to levels that are unsustainable. That is why the National Treasury and the current administration have purposed that we shall not continue to dig the hole that we are in. We are already in a hole. If we factor in almost Ksh9.4 trillion that is in debt today and almost Ksh718 billion that is a fiscal deficit that we have budgeted for in the next Financial Year 2023/2024, we are already past the debt ceiling that we set. If we do not do anything and continue with the trajectory that we are in, without signals to the economy and even to Parliament... We have an absolute figure that we set of Ksh10 trillion a year ago in 2022, if I remember well, just before the Financial Year 2022/2023 Budget. It was projected that this would probably take us for another two years. However, we are already in the red."
