    "content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. The Petition by Hon. Baya is timely. The issue of land is a big problem in this country given the fact that Kenyans in this day and age are still living as squatters on their own land. From what I have heard from the Petition, the mere fact that those residents have stayed on that land for over 50 years is reason enough for the land to revert to them. Under the law, those residents should have acquired that land through adverse possession. Even the idea of a “phantom” company emerging from the blues and then laying claim to land should not have arisen. The residents should have been given titles to this land a long time ago. This issue should be addressed expeditiously by the relevant Committee. This issue is not only affecting Kilifi North alone, but all over the country, especially in the coast region. This Petition is merited and should be dealt with expeditiously. I support."
