"content": "Ministry of Education should pick up and support such institutions financially so that, by the end of this financial year or by the time we open the schools next term, all primary schools in the Republic of Kenya have JSS. The third point I wish to make is that the teachers must be prepared through continuous training to help those children identify their talents so that they are redirected to areas of their expertise as they move further. Those who want to do engineering should be sent to engineering schools; those who want to make music should be sent to music schools; and those who want to be architects, or have interests in other areas of specialization, must be aided to achieve their dreams. Another thing is that when the Kenya Kwanza Government took office, it was a campaign promise that teachers who had been delocalized and who wished to go back to their home counties and constituencies after the administration was set up were to be allowed to go back to where they want to teach. There are many pending requests to TSC from teachers who want to return to their home counties and constituencies. The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education must direct TSC to immediately finalize the transfer of everyone who has requested to return to their home constituencies and help the children in their home constituencies, even in this CBC. The other issues are of facilities and teachers. Even after TSC advertised the 20,000 posts for teachers, it is still a drop in the ocean. We do not know what we will do with the current cohort already in JSS because they are unprepared to meet the demands of this changing world and the demands of choosing a career going forward. I wish to thank Hon. Ruku for bringing this Motion. This one must be translated into action and acted upon immediately. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker."
