I wish, on the outset, to support the contents of the Report on Conservation of Mau Forest Complex. Much has been said regarding why the Mau Forest Complex needs to be conserved. Conserving the Mau Forest is not only a livelihood issue, but it is also a food security issue. It is, in fact, an international boundary security issue, given that the destruction of resources of the Mau Forest Complex are affecting the entire Nile River Basin.
