"content": "One time this subject came up in this House and I fear that I was among the Members who opposed it thinking that by teaching sex education in schools, we were introducing these young people to sex, but that is not so. When they are introduced through the social media like TikTok and others as Mheshimiwa for Lang’ata has said, it is not about what they know because they know a lot. We realise that these children are maturing at a very early age. By the age of nine or ten, they are already mature, and are able to even conceive. The bitter truth is that they do not know anything. I support this Motion that they should start sex education in schools so that our girls and boys can grow up knowing about their bodies, matters health and the diseases that they can get. It is not much to ask for rather than having babies or giving birth to babies. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me this opportunity."
