"content": " Thank you, Hon. Wanyonyi. I believe I answered that question the last time I was here. Yes, we are working on the project. We have already identified an investor who has taken 10,000 acres. At the moment, we have curved out 560 acres and given to Twiga Foods. Already, maize is growing and doing very well through the pivot irrigation technology. In another eight months, we expect to offer 10,000 acres to them on a private investment basis. We are very encouraged by the way work is being done. I believe we will produce good maize. The projections are about 40 bags per acre and we hope to achieve this. We are also planning for a dam at the same site because the water available at the moment can only irrigate about 15,000 to 20,000 acres. We have close to 400,000 acres which are arable and can be put under irrigation. We have interested investors in a dam for purposes of irrigating the rest of the land. The Government invested in the first phase of 10,000 acres, and we are doing well in that respect."
