"content": "mandated to consider all matters relating to technology, engineering, electronic research, information broadcasting, information communications and technology development. During the period under review, the Committee held a total of 17 sittings, during which it considered one legislative proposal, two Bills, six Statements and one inquiry. Regarding legislative proposals, during the period, the Committee undertook pre- publication scrutiny on the legislative proposal on the Digital Literacy Bill, 2023, which was committed to the Committee on 29th May, 2023. The Committee sought for responses from the Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy and the Ministry of Education. Concerning Bills, during the period under review, the Committee considered the following two Bills- (1) The Office of the County Printer Bill (Senate Bills No.10 of 2022). The Office of the County Printer Bill (Senate Bills No.10 of 2022) was referred to the Committee on Thursday, 16th February, 2023, following its introduction in the Senate by way of First Reading. The Committee facilitated public participation pursuant to the provisions of Article 118 of the Constitution and prepared its report, which was tabled in the Senate on Wednesday, 12th April, 2023. (2) The Konza Technopolis Bill (Senate Bills No.2 of 2023). The Konza Technopolis Bill (Senate Bills No.2 of 2023) was referred to the Committee on Thursday, 16th February, 2023, following its introduction in the Senate by way of First Reading. The Committee facilitated public participation pursuant to the provisions of Article 118 of the Constitution and Standing Order No.145(5) of the Senate Standing Orders and prepared its report, which was tabled in Senate on Tuesday, 20th June, 2023."
