Time has come for the 13th Parliament to reconsider the wisdom behind centralising all petitions under one Committee. In the 11th and 12th Parliaments, where I served, petitions were taken to specific committees depending on the subject matter. That might be another way out. At the same time, I get very concerned when I see the Leader of the Majority Party surrendering.
