"content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for allowing me to contribute to this Motion. As you know, cancer is a menace that has consumed many Kenyans. It is spreading in our villages like a bushfire. It is a total disaster. Families have been drained of resources due to the huge budget required to treat cancer and other terminal diseases. Even as we talk about cancer, other terminal diseases drain the resources of our people, especially kidney disease, HIV and AIDS, and diabetes. Fundraising for treatment has drained families of their resources. Many families have sold all their land, investments, and hard-earned resources to fund the treatment of terminal diseases. Some of the suspected causes of these diseases are lifestyle and the pesticides that we use. However, the main cause of cancer is still a mystery. We are told that it is possible to get treatment if it is detected early. The Government should put in place relevant equipment and infrastructure and sensitize people on early detection for the ultimate treatment of this disease. The State should come on board to handle bills through the National Cancer Prevention and Control Fund to promote prevention, control, and treatment of cancer in our country. With those few remarks, Hon. Temporary Speaker, I support."
