I ask the Cabinet Secretary to give us an assurance that the idea of launching the programme will be followed up with a serious and robust distribution of seeds to farmers. The reason I am saying we need an assurance is because two years ago, I attended the launch of BT Cotton in Busia. The promise was that seeds would be available to farmers the following year. To date, seeds have not been provided to farmers. I also ask the Cabinet Secretary to ensure provision of the traditional cotton seeds that were being given to farmers by the Ministry as we await the full production of BT Cotton seeds.
