    "content": "You have mentioned that you will give technical support to promote the processing of hides and skins. We know the biggest challenge in the country on why we have never harnessed this industry is because all abattoirs are old. They are old from Independence time. The country has no modern abattoir except the Kenya Meat Commission at the Export Processing Zone (EPZ). This programme can only work if there is a direct plan to install modern abattoirs so that the skin is not damaged, and the quality improves. The initial processing of the skin should be at the abattoir so that it does not rot before it gets to the processing plant."
