    "content": "Why do we want to regulate the price of unga ? It is either because market forces of supply and demand have collapsed, and there is not enough maize in the market. I do not think that that is an issue that should be addressed by subsidising the prices of unga . It should be addressed through other means, so that prices can be maintained. In my view, the long-term solution to this problem is having what we call a Strategic Grain Reserve that should be kept by the Government at all times and released into the market whenever there is a shortage instead of rushing to import maize. We should also continue developing and deepening the operations of our commodities’ market to try and create stability in the prices of this essential commodity."
