    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1), I rise to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations concerning recent terrorist attacks in several parts of Kenya. In the Statement, the Committee should - (1) Explain the reasons for the increase in alleged terrorist attacks currently being witnessed in parts of Lamu and the North Eastern region of Kenya. (2) State the effect of the announcement of the re-opening of the Kenya-Somali border, stating whether security agencies might have dropped guard compared to the previous state of alertness. (3) Outline any actions taken to involve the communities affected, considering that several attacks happen in the villages, an indication that there might be criminals living among the residents. (4) State any measures that have been taken to curb terrorism activities from spreading to other parts of the country. Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir."
