"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I wish to tell the Cabinet Secretary that there are over four million Kenyans who are trading in bitcoins. On what happened recently where the iris was being scanned, it is believed to be the most intrusive data gathering. It also borders on what is called collection of data for Artificial Intelligence. If we are saying that by the next ten years everything in Kenya will be in e-government, e-this and e-that, how much are we ahead in terms of saying yes there must be a red line that Kenyans should not be asked for this or that because banks or any entity can go for this? You can imagine the collection of this data was done because Kenyans were being paid $49. That is really absurd. For that reason, the Cabinet Secretary for ICT should explain to us the issue of Artificial Intelligence and whether Kenyans are not being used as some sort of data collection entity for a specific reason to match their own business."
