"content": "previous Parliaments since the inception of the KYPA, owe their election or nomination to Parliament to the KYPA. The affairs of the KYPA are managed by an executive committee elected at an annual general meeting of Members of the Association. To this end, I wish to bring to the attention of the House that at its Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023, in the Small Dining Room of Parliament Buildings, members of the KYPA elected the following persons to the executive committee: 1. Hon. Gitonga Mukunji – Chairperson. 2. Hon. Robert Basil – Vice-Chairperson. 3. Hon. Amina Udgoon - Secretary-General. 4. Hon. Gideon Kimaiyo – Treasurer. 5. Hon. Charles Nguna – Vice-Treasurer. 6. Sen. Esther Okenyuri - Senate Representative. 7. Hon. Maina Karobia - Youth Representative in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). The Members also appointed the Member of Molo Constituency, Hon. CPA Kuria Kimani, as the Association Patron. I congratulate the newly elected Executive Committee Members and wish them the best in their endeavours as they steer the KYPA to greater heights. It is worth noting that the new Executive Committee comes when the world observes International Youth Week, which will culminate in the commemoration of International Youth Day on Saturday, 12th August 2023, under the theme Green Skills for Youth: Working towards a Sustainable Global Community. Finally, I laud all young Members of the House who have already enrolled as members of the Association. I encourage those who have not done so to consider joining the Association and be part of the milestones that will be made in the 13th Parliament. I thank you. The Rt. Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, Speaker of the National Assembly, signs it off. Before I sit down, I would like to recognise the presence of the delegation from the County Assembly of Bungoma, comprising 11 members of staff drawn from various directorates seated in the Speaker’s Gallery. The delegation is attending a one-week training on parliamentary practices and procedures at the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST) in Karen. You are most welcome to the National Assembly."
