"content": " Hon. Temporary Speaker, I thank Hon. Phelix Odiwuor, Member for Langata. He is not just my good friend but also my area Member of Parliament as well as my former voter in Saboti before he shifted. Langata Cemetery was started in 1958. That was before we gained Independence as a country. This is a cemetery that was started by the colonialists. Of course, their intention was well informed. At that particular time in the history of this country, the population was not as it is. This is a menace that has been created partly by urbanisation, which has increased the population of Nairobi. People who have come to seek a fortune in this city end up becoming permanent residents. Eventually when they die, they are buried at the cemetery. It is paramount that we try and restructure that cemetery by increasing the acreage. Twenty years ago, the place was declared full and a number of suggestions…"
