I appreciate this Bill which originates from the Executive. It was brought to the House by the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah. This Bill ran short of collapsing all these authorities that were established to look at the safety of food and feeds: The State Department for Crop Development, State Department for Livestock Development which deals with veterinary services, State Department for Medical Services, State Department for Health Standards and Professional Management, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock which is in charge of fisheries and the food authority."
