Is the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage aware that monkeys are part of the wildlife and form part of human-wildlife conflict? In Gatanga Constituency, vervet monkeys aka theru are the cause of poverty and starvation. These animals eat food crops such as maize and bananas. They also eat cash crops such as coffee, avocados and macadamia nuts leaving the public in Gatanga Constituency with devastation, starvation and lack of income. What plans does the Ministry have to: 1. eradicate those destructive animals? 2. compensate farmers who are unable to feed their children and have been deprived of their income? Thank you very much."
