"content": "I am happy that Hon. TJ, Hon. Kaluma and Hon. Opiyo Wandayi were with me in the last Parliament when we vehemently opposed some of the provisions in the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Bill, which eventually became an Act of Parliament. Lawyers, through the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), went to court over some of those provisions. When this Bill was published, the LSK engaged with the Attorney-General and they signed an out- of-court settlement. They are okay with the current provisions of this Bill. They raised issues on what information lawyers should share with… Even accountants like myself and many other professionals, who have their client’s confidential information, are affected. All these issues have been taken care of in this Bill."
