"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to add my voice to the debate on the Climate Change (Amendment) Bill, which I support. We have been told about carbon trading for a long time, but our people in the villages do not know how they can benefit from it. I walked around my constituency just the other day and met groups of people who were registering my constituents, especially farmers, as beneficiaries of carbon trading. I support the idea of having a climate change directorate within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, which will be in charge of informing our people how best they can benefit from carbon trading. Most parts of our country receive sufficient rain. Our people can be told to plant more trees because by doing so, they are guaranteed to earn an income. That provides an extra opportunity for our people to earn an income."
