I have looked at the papers that have been laid before the House by the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs pertaining to the court case. None of the prayers relate to this House or to the work of the Committee. It is the citizens who have gone before the court, and who want the law interpreted for them. Parliament is well within its mandate to conduct its business. The principle of separation of powers demands that the three arms of the Government shall not interfere with each other. Parliament cannot stop the Executive from going on with its business. We cannot stop the Judiciary from doing its work, and"
