    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing on the omission of construction of six interchanges on the Nairobi’s Western bypass. In the Statement, the Committee should: (1) state the reasons behind the omission of six interchanges from the original plan by China Roads and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for the Nairobi Western Bypass despite the initial approval; (2) clarify the rationale behind disbursing the payment of Kshs21.5 billion to the contractor, despite the contractor’s failure to complete interchanges as initially intended through the Bill of Quantities (BQ); (3) state the measures put in place by the Government to introduce junctions or interchanges along the Western Bypass, to ensure accessibility for the densely populated areas situated along the road; and,"
