Temporary Chairlady, Clause 68 (1) of the Bill says that upon commencement of this Act, privatisation of entities published under Gazette Notice No. 8739 of 14th August 2009 shall lapse. We are providing a recourse in Clause 68(2) which says, “Notwithstanding subsection (1), any ongoing privatisation under the repealed Act that may be completed within 12 months from the date of commencement of this Act, shall be determined and finalised in accordance with this Act.” Hon. Nyikal, read Clause 68(2) which says “Notwithstanding subsection (1)”. It provides a recourse for what happens when that Gazette Notice lapses in Clause 68(1)."
