I would have preferred to say “and.” When you say “or” it means, you may not know how to read in English or Kiswahili, but you can do it in your language. The document that we are going to have to educate those members of the public, trying to prevent those situations they face, will be in English. As you directed, I propose an amendment to that section, so that the local vernacular alone can definitely not be a requirement for one to be appointed as a county health promoter in our communities. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in conclusion, what we think is not proper, we have the powers and the opportunity to amend. What is right, we pass as it is. I thank the President of the Republic of Kenya for coming out clearly on the achievement of UHC. We now have four legislations before Parliament, so that we are able to participate. The Senate has the best opportunity. I am happy that I am serving as a Senator for Baringo County at this time when we are going to pass a law that is going to ensure UHC is achieved in our counties.
