    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.53 (1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries regarding the safeguarding of stability of agriculture sector. In the Statement, the Committee should: (1) Disclose plans, if any, by the Government to purchase agricultural produce from farmers who have expedited harvest in fear of the impending El-nino rains and lack the means to safely store produce. (2) Clarify if the Government plans to offer support to farmers to ensure they can effectively handle and store their agricultural produce to safeguard national food security in times of scarcity. I thank you."
