(Prof.) Kindiki): Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, in response to Question No.54 by the Senator for Marsabit County, I would like to inform the House that the 1998 bombing of the United States of America (USA) Embassy in Nairobi City County, which occurred on 7th August, 1998, at around 11.00 a.m., resulted in the death of 213 Kenyans and 12 citizens of the USA. About 4,500 other persons were injured in various degrees. Our police agencies; the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) together with international agencies and American security agencies have been involved in investigations. In the consequence of which, several suspect arrests have been done in Kenya and outside Kenya."
