    "content": "Madam Temporary Speaker, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries; on the unavailability of certified seeds by authorised seed companies and their distributors leading to an artificial shortage in the market and the attendant increase in prices of the seeds to farmers. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Explain the reasons for the current shortage in supply of certified seeds of common farm crops such as maize and beans, just at the onset of the October planting season.
