    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the water and sanitation situation in Ahero, Kombewa, Maseno, Muhoroni and Sondu towns in Kisumu County and their environs. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Inform the Senate of the current status of access to clean and safe drinking water as well as waste water management in Ahero, Kombewa, Maseno, Muhoroni, and Sondu towns in Kisumu County and their environs. (2) Indicate the sources of clean and safe drinking water for the towns, clarifying whether the water supply is sufficient; (3) Provide information on the coverage of water piping infrastructure in the towns. (4) Highlight any recent improvements done on the water piping infrastructure and also clarify whether there are plans by the County Government of Kisumu to replace old water and sanitation pipes. (5) State the budgetary allocation set aside by the county government for the development of water and sanitation infrastructure and services in the county."
