    "content": "(5) THAT, the Petitioners whose ancestral land is occupied by KARI have been forced to settle near the river banks which under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act, 2012 is termed as riparian public land and they are facing eviction. (6) THAT, the Petitioner has made efforts to have this matter addressed by the NLC which has failed to give a satisfactory response. The Petitioners, therefore, pray that the Senate intervenes in this matter with the view to do the following - (1) Have the NLC determine the actual acreage allocated to KARI and KFTC. (2) Have an expeditious resettlement of the Petitioners to any available public land. Hon. Senators, pursuant to Standing Order No.237, I will allow limited comments. I will take two from the Minority side and two from the Majority side. In that case, therefore, I will start with Sen. Kinyua."
