"content": "determined to resettle Kenyans who were displaced by the post-election violence. The Committee is of the opinion that this Ministry has been under-funded. We should support this Ministry because it is supposed to address critical issues that the country faces now. The Western Kenya Community Driven Development and Flood Mitigation Project has been allocated Kshs1.1 billion. Out of this amount, only Kshs16.5 million is from the Government while the rest of the funds will come from the World Bank. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, out of the Kshs2 billion allocated to the National Campaign Against HIV/AIDS, Kshs1.5 billion will come from donors. The Kshs1.3 billion allocated to relief and rehabilitation is from the Government of Kenya. The allocation for the maintenance of the Strategic Grain Reserve may not be enough as the drought situation continues. I would like to conclude by saying that the Committee wishes to thank the Office of the hon. Speaker and the Liaison Committee for the necessary support. The Committee also thanks the Office of the Clerk for providing the necessary logistics and technical support. The Committee is also grateful to the Parliamentary Budget Office for the technical support it provided. The Committee, further, wishes to thank His Excellency the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, the Minister of State for Special Programmes, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Minister for Gender and Children Affairs, Minister for Labour and Human Resource Management and the Minister for National Heritage and Culture, the Permanent Secretaries and technocrats who appeared before it to provide the necessary information and respond to the issues raised by the hon. Members during the examination of the 2009/2010 Estimates. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, with those few remarks, I beg to support the Ministryâs budgetary allocation."
