"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I join my colleagues in supporting the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Motion. It is very important as a country to remember our past, but how do we know about our past if we do not… What shall we do in future? When I was first elected in 2013, I had requested the Meru elders - because Merus came from the middle of Africa, passed through all those places and settled in Meru - to come and document the history of the Meru, their cultures and traditions. Unfortunately, it was deemed to be political and we did not manage to do that. We need the artifacts in foreign museums to come back to the country. They should be brought back as soon as possible. That is the only way we will teach our children the heritage they are inheriting. With those few remarks, I join my colleagues in supporting the Motion. Thank you."
