Temporary Deputy Speaker, following recommendations of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform (PWPER), the first progress report of December 2022 domiciled JSSs in primary schools. Guidelines for the implementation of junior secondary schools were developed based on these recommendations. The guidelines were given to the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Standards (DQAS), which assessed all primary schools to establish their suitability to host junior secondary schools. In preparation for the transition, the TSC did re-tooling or capacity building for teachers in compliance with the transformative pedagogies."
