    "content": "defrauded and even short-changed Kenyans when they make their claims after accidents or other incidents that warrant such claims. We also note that some insurance companies that insured us recently have collapsed, including the most current Blue Shield Insurance Company. That is why we are bringing this amendment this afternoon. Let me thank the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning and my friend, Hon. Kimani, for bringing this amendment. I believe it is going to cure some of the challenges we have been facing in the insurance sector. This amendment is going to cure many of the challenges we have been facing in the insurance sector, especially those that have just insured Kenyans and end up collapsing and, therefore, Kenyans lose millions of shillings. We will also create awareness of the insurance covers available. I note that there is a low uptake of insurance policies or low penetration of insurance in this country. By doing so, we will increase the confidence of Kenyans. They will end up taking more insurance coverage. With those few remarks, I support. Thank you."
