"content": "For those of us who were with the Departmental Committee on Health, we saw the challenges they go through. This Bill makes it easier for them to have children. Of course, the Bill talks about the issue of commercialisation. Do we commercialise or not? Many people were persuaded towards adequate compensation, but not commercialisation and also to ensure that anybody who is a surrogate mother is taken care of even for any subsequent problems. There is also the issue of storage of gametes. For instance, if I have donated my eggs, how long should they stay? Can they stay for one hundred years? What about a man who has donated his sperms and then he dies? Can his sperms be used posthumously? The Bill addresses those issues and Members will have a chance to speak to them. The Committee has done an excellent job. There is also the issue of parental consent where a child is involved. As a parent, you may find out that your child has cancer and you know that chemotherapy will dry up their eggs. In that case, you can give them an opportunity to store their eggs."
