Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 43(1), I wish to make a General Statement regarding the state of preparedness and response to the potential devastating effects of the impending El Nino rains in the country. Hon. Speaker, weather forecasts have predicted that the period from October to December 2023 carries a very high probability of above-average rainfall across the country.
