When we speak about the cost of living, many people assume that the cost of living is just about food and the provision of affordable food. The cost of healthcare is a major element in the cost of living. If we save Kenyans from the high cost of medical care, they will have a higher disposable income available to them to cater for other needs, be it education or food. I beg to move and request Members to join me and the drafters of this Bill in the Ministry of Health, plus the other Bills, to bring down the cost of living for millions of our people. With that, I beg for your support and request the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Health, Hon. Pukose, to second. I also want to thank him and the Committee for their immense work in taking those Bills through public participation in the seven days that they are designated and coming up with the Report they tabled this afternoon. Thank you."
