"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I support the Primary Health Care Bill (Senate Bill No.44 of 2023). Families are currently suffering and crying because of the burden of taking care of sick relatives. Article 43(1)(a) of the Constitution mandates the Government to take care of the health of all its citizens to the highest attainable standards. Because we have concentrated so much on curative as opposed to preventive care, this country’s health facilities are overstretched. The health facilities cannot cater for the number of patients at any one given time. This Primary Health Care Bill is aimed at attaining one thing: ensuring that all sicknesses are detected early.
