"content": "A few days ago, I think on Monday, I was at the launch of a book called ‘Healing the Mind’ written by Prof. Frank Njenga. When he spoke in that particular launch, he said that the enemy number one for mental illness is the insurance companies followed by the church because they would rather pray for you other than have you seek conventional treatment. However, it was great to hear yesterday that they have now agreed to work hand in hand with the mental health specialists so as to curb this particular menace. As raised by the Member for Lamu East, treatment is extremely expensive and requires extreme supervision. For substance abuse, the patients are sometimes given a daily dose of treatment at the hospital so that they can stay away from the addiction. But that is only being provided…"
