Temporary Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 3 of the Bill be amended in sub-clause (1)— (a) by deleting subparagraph (a) (i) and substituting therefore the following new subparagraph— “(i) an adoptive legislation to be domesticated by a County Assembly for the purpose of imposing property taxes as contemplated in Article 209 (1)(a) of the Constitution and the processing of adopting this Act by the County Assembly; and” (b) by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting therefore the following new paragraph— “(c) provide for the role of the National Land Commission as provided for under Article 67(2)(g) of the Constitution in respect of standardisation of the details that constitute a valuation roll and a supplementary roll, as the case may be, and as repository of all valuation rolls and supplementary valuation rolls and struck rate and any other necessary information relating to rating in Kenya” Just for record purposes, after consulting the legal team, allow me to drop my amendment under part (a). I wish to prosecute the amendment in part (b) as indicated on the Order Paper."
