    "content": "I rise to support the proposed amendments to the Evidence Act, and the Criminal Procedure Code so that the justice administration system in Kenya, and more so the Judiciary, can function in an appropriate way. We also want to introduce… This House has powers to create more courts. In future, we should have traditional courts as a method of ensuring justice in our society. We also need to establish jury courts and have different types of courts so that members of the public can choose the kind of courts they want to go to. Some of our courts have a long way to go in terms of the justice administration system. We know what is trending out there. I do not want to mention it in this House. We have a long way to go in as far as the judicial system in this country is concerned. In the future, we want to have different types of courts so members of the public can choose which court to go to. Most people will choose to go to traditional courts because they are most effective in terms of unearthing the truth of whether a crime was committed or not. Alternative dispute resolution mechanisms need to be embedded in our society. Hon. Temporary Speaker, with those remarks, I support these amendments. Thank you."
