It is against this background that I request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining on the following– 1. What measures are being taken by the Ministry to address the spillage caused by the Zarara Oil and Gas Company? 2. State whether the Ministry has tested the chemical emission to determine their toxicity and mitigate likely health hazards; and, 3. The strategies and initiatives the Ministry has put in place to address the psychological effects caused by the spillage, particularly with regard to compensation to affected residents."
